All About Dr. Teresa Tam

Dr. Teresa Tam, MD, FACOG, FACS is Board certified by the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology, and is a fully licensed physician and surgeon by the State of Illinois (license no.: 036.093565).  She has been in private practice since 1998. In 2013, she founded All for Women Healthcare, SC, in Chicago, Illinois.

Medical Education

Dr. Tam actually began her medical career as a medical technologist, having received her bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology from the University of Illinois, Chicago. Soon after her undergraduate graduation, she was accepted at the Rosalind Franklin Chicago Medical School, where she received her medical degree (MD) and the Dean’s Award at her graduation in 1994. She undertook her four-year residency obstetrics and gynecology at St. Joseph Hospital, graduating the program in 1998. She has been in private practice since then.

Dr. Tam’s greatest interest was in gynecologic surgery. In 2012, well into a highly successful, 14 year medical career, she took a sabbatical from her private practice to undertake an intensive fellowship program in Minimally Invasive Gynecological Surgery (MIGS) at Penn State Hershey Medical Center in Hershey, Pennsylvania. She left Chicago and moved to Hershey, Pennsylvania for that one year program.

During her fellowship, she received advanced training in laparoscopic surgery and robotically-assisted surgery using the da Vinci® Robotic Surgical System. There, she performed hundreds of minimally invasive surgeries each month, under the guidance of the most skilled surgeons in the country. In addition to her surgeries, she also published seven medical research papers and mentored the ob/gyne residents at the hospital.

She graduated her fellowship in June 2013, and returned to Chicago to start her new private practice, “All for Women Healthcare, SC,“ located in the Presence Center for Advanced Care building at 2845 N. Sheridan Road, Suite 902.
